In a recent interview with Edmunds.com, Buick-GMC Vice President Duncan Aldred laid out some possible changes coming to the GMC brand. Among these changes was the introduction of a new flagship SUV, as well as the possibility of a vehicle that could challenge the Jeep Wrangler.
Aldred took on his position earlier this year, and already has big plans for the brand, “I have come here to do a job and change the face of the brand,” he declared.
While Aldred said GMC currently doesn’t have any plans to add new models to the lineup, the automaker is still in the brainstorming stage. He said, “There is plenty of room everywhere in the hierarchy.”
If GMC goes through with these additional models, it could really help redefine the brand and give it a more specific mission. Perhaps GMC could focus more on offering off-road type vehicles, as well as vehicles that can haul and tow your boat and camper.
The current GMC lineup includes the GMC Canyon, Sierra, Terrain, Acadia, Yukon, and upscale Yukon Denali. What type of vehicles would you love to see GMC add to its lineup?
